Materials
- Hilsa fish - 4 pieces
- Sour yogurt - 4 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ghee - 3 tablespoons
- Mustard oil - 4 tbsp
- Raisins - 2 teaspoons
- Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
- Raw chilli paste - 1 teaspoon
- Dried pepper - 2 tbsp
- Bay leaves - 1
- Very thinly chopped onion - 1 large onion
- Small cardamom - 3 crushed
- Cinnamon - a little
Method
1. Wash the fish and add salt, turmeric powder, raw chilli, bata chilli and sour curd.
2. Now heat mustard oil and ghee in a nonstick pan.
3. When the oil is hot, add sugar, bay leaves, cinnamon and small cardamom. Lightly fry with chopped onion in it.
4. When the onion turns a little pink, cover it with spiced fish, dried chillies and raisins and let it cook.
5. If one side is fried on a low flame, carefully invert the fish with spices. Cover and cook again.
6.When the fish is boiled and the spices are well fried and the oil is released, then take it off the heat and serve.
